When BCCI finally decided to adopt DRS wholeheartedly just before the England series, there was quite some discussion whether or not India would be able to take maximum advantage of technology. But after a while Virat Kohli and his teammates accustomed themselves to this change and with time improved the percentage of successful reviews.

The skipper went a step ahead on the final day of the one-off Test between India and Bangladesh by overturning a 'not out' decision which was given by the third umpire. It may sound a bit confusing but the cusp of the matter is that Kohli was well within rules to push for a change in outcome.

Bangladesh were struggling at 250 for nine with an extended post lunch session in progress. Ravichandran Ashwin rapped pacer Taskin Ahmed on the pads who tried to flick the ball on the leg side. The close in fielder was also alert and he completed the catch as Indians appealed at the top of their voice. On-field umpire Marais Erasmus reckoned that some part of the bat had hit the ball and referred it to the TV umpire for a catch and indicated through soft signal that the batsman was out. However, the man in the air conditioned room found that there was no willow on the ball and flashed 'NOT OUT' on the giant screen.

But the drama wasn't over as the Indian skipper immediately decided to take the help of DRS with the hope of getting an LBW decision in their favour. This time ball tracking technology was in play and it clearly showed that the red cherry had struck the batsman in line and would have gone on to hit a good part of the leg stump. Thus the third umpire, Chris Gaffaney overturned his own decision and asked Erasmus to give it 'out' resulting in the commencement of the game.

Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja picked up four wickets apiece to lead India to a comprehensive 208-run win over Bangladesh on Monday.
