#INDvAUS, 3rd Test: Pujara breaks Dravid's SACRED record

Cheteshwar Pujara's double century against Australia in the on-going third Test was an exhibition in more ways than one. The Saurashtra lad's discipline during his marathon stay at the crease will be spoken about for years to come. During his 668-minute stay at the crease, Pujara didn't hit a single six. Such was his concentration and determination.

Thanks to Pujara's brilliance on  Sunday, India have well and truly taken control of proceedings in Ranchi. However, the day will be remembered for a very special record made by the middle-order batsman.

Pujara now holds the record for the most number of balls faced by an Indian in an innings. He broke Rahul Dravid's record of 495 balls faced against Pakistan in Rawalpindi in 2004. The 29-year-old's monumental effort finally came to an end when he got out for 202 off 525 balls. His knock was studded with 21 boundaries.

Nathan Lyon, who picked up his first wicket after his eight-wicket haul in India's first innings in Bengaluru, was the one to send Pujara back.

The Aussies, on their part, were gracious and made it a point to go up to Pujara and congratulate him. Well, the classy batsman truly deserves all the credit. This record will surely stand the test of time.
