Indian batsmen ended the day at 55 for one after Cricket Australia (CA) XI were bowled out for 219 in the tour game played at Adelaide on Monday. India lost Shikhar Dhawan early as they came out to bat on the first day. Dhawan was dismissed by Josh Lalor in the seventh over of the match when he was batting on 10.

Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara carried on from there and provided stability to the innings. Both remained unbeaten at the end of the day’s play.

Earlier in the day, CA XI were bundled out for a modest total of 219. Batting first, the CA XI had a sour start to their innings as Matthew Short was dismissed only in the first over of the match. Short was dismissed on the first ball he faced from Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.

Opener, Ryan Carter finished as the highest scorer for CA XI as he scored a fifty but was later dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin. The middle-order failed to provide any resistance as wickets fell quickly. But the tailenders helped CA XI to a score past 200.

Varun Aaron was the most successful bowler for the Indians as he picked three wickets while Karn Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvanweshwar Kumar ended with two wickets each.
