The rise of India as a footballing nation gains momentum yet again as India qualify for the 2018 Russia World Cup Qualifiers.

After beating Nepal 2-0 on aggregate, the Indian Football team has qualified for the 2018 Russia World Cup Qualifiers stage.
This means that India will play at least eight more international matches this year.
The Blue Tigers currently stand at 147th place in the FIFA Rannkings. The team had slipped to 173rd position this year, but the win over Nepal has improved their ranking now.
Playing eight more matches means they have a chance to further improve their rankings.

Picked out in Group D of the World Cup Qualifiers, India face Iran, Oman, Guam and Turkmenistan in thier bid to qualify for the World Cup in Russia
India host Oman on the 11th June in Bengaluru for the first leg of the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.
