The team has been under performing having lost the ODI series to the hosts.

On Saturday, there was something to cheer for the Indian cricket team as they managed to for the first time in the New Zealand tour overpower the hosts. On the third day of the Auckland Test, India managed to get the Brendon McCullum lead team out for 105 runs in just 41 overs bafter a great effort by the rejuvenated Indian pace attack.

India who failed to win the ODI series managing only a tie in one match, after they lost their No1 ranking and were slammed by critics and fans alike.

The first two days of the Test was a continuation of the dismal performance that the MS Dhoni lead team has put on show in New Zealand.

Being set a target of 407 to win the first Test at Auckland, India ended day 3 of the match on 87/1, a score that is 320 short of a win. If India manages to win in the next two days, it will be a remarkable comeback victory at Eden Park for the visitors who looked down and out after the first two days.

A number of fans took to Twitter to express their joy. Here are a few reactions:

407 to win? Very difficult couple of players can show character and turn their career around. Who knows? #IndVsNz

If India is to win tomorrow, Dhoni needs to take Shikar to meet the ORACLE to make him believe that, He is Dha-Wan. #IndvsNZ #NZvsInd

The Indian batsmen have it all to do as they have 9 wickets to chase down the score with 2 days in hand. The famed batting line up have to live up to the hype around them as they chase a record win as well as look to silence the many critics back home.
