Debutant Hardik Pandya and leggie Amit Mishra on Sunday wreaked havoc as India bundled out New Zealand for a paltry 190 in the first ODI of the five-match series at the HPCA Stadium.

Pandya, who was making his ODI debut after showing his all-round skills in Australia, proved skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's decision of bowling first right as he took the price wicket of Martin Guptill in his very first over. After the fall of the first wicket, the Black Caps kept on losing wickets at regular intervals as none of the batsmen showed patience and resilience and threw their wickets.

Tom Latham, who remained unbeaten at 79, was the only top order batsman, who could battle out the Indian bowlers. Apart from him, Tim Southee was the only other player who contributed with a significant knock of 55 runs to help the visitors evade some embarrassment.

Apart from Pandya, Mishra also picked up three wickets, same as that of the former, to dent the New Zealand innings. Pacer Umesh Yadav also chipped in with two crucial wickets during the course of the innings.

With the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane in the batting line-up, it won't be too difficult for the Men in Blue to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
