India and Bangladesh are squaring off in the crucial World T20 tie at Bengaluru. Both sides are desperate to win the tie to bolster their chances of entering the semi-finals.

Bangladesh and India supporters have often sparred on the social media. But before the match, the national anthem was played which was in a way a unifier for both the nations. The songs have a common link that also highlights the shared cultural ethos between the two countries. 

The national anthems of both the countries was written and composed by Noble Laureate and famous poet Rabindranath Tagore. At the match, first the Bangladeshi national anthem 'Amar Shonar Bangla' was played, followed by 'Jana Gana Mana'. The Indian national anthem had become a subject of controversy in the last match, with a lawsuit slapped against Amitabh Bachchan for incorrectly singing the song. Their were also allegations that Shafqat Aman Ali mispronounced some words of the Pakistani anthem.

Thankfully today's match will be free of all such controversies and will be only known for on-field actions.
