Stumps- Day 1-
India started the day by dropping an early catch ended with another drop. The pitch promises nothing to the pacers on a hot day. Australia started with a 200-run stand (put up by Warner-Rogers), after which the both the openers fell quickly, and now Smith and Watson have added 144. Unless the visitors manage to get Australia all out by next morning, Australia will comfortably cross the 500-run mark for the fourth time in four first innings this series
90 overs- 348/2
In the current partnership the batsmen have put 144 runs on the board
Watson- 61 off 132, Steven Smith- 82 off 134
Tough day for Indian bowlers.
88 overs- 337/2
Partnership of 126 runs from 243 balls
India need to break this partnership. The Rogers-Warner partnership put up 200 runs.

India with 5 bowlers has won only 7 matches outside Asia.
On an ordinary bowling day, @ashwinravi99 has stood out.

End of session: 32 overs 119 runs 2 wickets
Afraid the bowling has been ordinary. Nothing at all, no pace either, for Bhuvaneshwar. Shami and Yadav too inconsistent.

58 overs- 236/2
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar brought into the attack. Absolutely nothing for Kumar today. He had a successful run on the England tour.

OUT! Chris Rogers dismissed for 95. India have got the second wicket. Two wickets in quick succession. The delivery clattered into the stumps off a thick inside edge. He is upset and disgusted with himself as goes five short of 100
CJL Rogers b Mohammed Shami 95 off 160b
45 overs- 200/1
DRINKS
WICKET! Warner departs as Kohli takes a good catch at gully as Warner ends up playing an Ashwin delivery against the turn.

Ashwin however managed to create a few problems but India remain unsuccessful in getting the first Australian wicket.
Day 1 Session 1- 28 overs- 123/0

13 overs- 72/0
India bowling a lot more over the wicket.
12 overs- 67/0
Indians need to pitch it up to Rogers and get him on the front foot.
India have been sloppy this morning
Good opportunity for India to play two spinners in this Sydney test.
There are three changes in the Indian squad- Saha, Raina, Rohit and Bhuvneshwar are in for Dhoni, Dhawan, Pujara and Ishant.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat
The final test in the Border- Gavaskar Trophy will start in a while. Australia have already sealed the series but this final match will be anything but mere formality.
For Aussies, it will be a gut wrenching affair to comeback to Sydney, where tragedy struck a fatal blow to Phill Hughes on 25th November. For Indians, it will be sort of a new beginning, with Virat Kohli captaining the side permanently for the first time in place of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who decided to hang up his gloves after the third test.
Australia have already announced their first 11. Mitchell Starc will replace injured Mitchell Johnson. Sydney track has traditionally helped spinners and this time it is likely to behave similarly. However it is unlikely to deter the mighty Aussies, who have won 10 of their last 11 outings here. The Indian side will surely see one change with Wriddhiman Saha finally getting a chance to come out of imposing shadow of Dhoni. Other than that, Suresh Raina may replace KL Rahul, who had an abysmal first test. It will be interesting to see if Kohli persists with Ashwin as his lead spinner. If fit, Bhuvneshwar Kumar may also be part of the final 11.
Although the scoreline reads 0-2, Indians have been competitive in this test series. They failed to capitalise on crucial moments conceding advantage to the hosts. The batting particularly has looked solid with Vijay, Kohli and Rahane all finding rich vein of form. The bowling though has been a major dissapointment. India will like to pull one back, to get much needed confidence ahead of tri-series and World Cup next month.
