India may have lost against South Africa but they still make history becoming highest run scoring team in ODIs

India lost the opening ODI against South Africa by a mammoth 141 runs as they now trail the three match series 1-0.

South Africa scored a huge 350 plus thanks to awesome batting by their wicket keeper Quinton de Kock who slammed 35 came off 121 balls and included 18 fours and three sixes.

The hosts who were wearing pink overalls as they supported breast cancer were sizzling when it came to form against India who were asked questions by South Africa with both bat as well as ball.

The Indian cricket team who have scored and chased 300 plus scores a lot this year during the match on Thursday overtook Australia when Shikhar Dhawan scored his first boundary making India the highest run scoring team in ODI history.

Prior to the match, India and Australia were levelled on 1,82,881 runs but the tie ended with India surging ahead. But Australia have a better win percentage. Third on the list of highest ODI run scoring teams is Pakistan, with Sri Lanka fourth and West Indies rounding up the top-5.

From the opening ODI match India can take positives from MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli's batting as they seek to get back in the series, The other batsmen and bowlers in particular will need to step up in the remainder of the series if India want to win.
