Gowda, the reigning Commonwealth Games champion and silver winner in 2014 Asian Games, has thrown the discus over 65m three times in the last three weeks.

India discus thrower Vikas Gowda has won gold in the Jamaican International Invitation meet held at Kingston on Sunday.
Gowda won gold thanks to his effort of 65.14 m which holds him in good stead ahead of preparations for Rio 2016.Chad Wright of Jamaica came second with an effort of 61.84m while Jared Schuurmans of United States was third with 61.62m. The reigning Commonwealth Games champion and 2014 Asian Games silver medallist, has breached the 65m three times recently.
Gowda needs to break the qualifying standard of 66m to qualify for Rio 2016, though his national record stands at 66.28m.
