Even before he begins the conversation, NBA player Seth Curry takes his chair back to get more comfortable.

Perhaps it's the best description of his life, where Seth has had to sit back, relax and watch his elder brother, Stephen, win the title with the Golden State Warriors last year. And why not? It was Seth, after all, who was his brother's first ever opponent on the basketball court.

In India to promote the sport through a few clinics, one sees a smile on Seth's face when he goes back in time to describe the brothers' love for basketball.

"We had a small court at home (Charlotte, North Carolina) where we used to play one-on-one. Both of us were part of the high school team. Plus, our father (Dell) was an NBA player. So, we lived and breathed basketball.

"As far as the two of us are concerned, like any other duo, we too had the sibling rivalry. We used to get into a lot of heated arguments and fights. That's what brothers do, don't they?" the 25-year old told dna, wearing his Sacramento Kings jersey and shorts.

"Sometimes," he went on, "we used to end the fight the moment we stepped out of the court. On some days, our mother knew there was something wrong and she didn't like both her sons angry."

Stephen made the big jump into the NBA in 2009 with the Golden State Warriors, while Seth made the cut four years later with the Memphis Grizzlies. While Seth is slowly finding his feet, his elder sibling keeps raising the bar for everyone as well as himself.

"I knew he would end up playing in the NBA. But I never thought he would go out to win the MVP (Most Valuable Player) one day. It's hard to predict that but I could tell that he was one of the best players on the court. I didn't think he could do better than he did last season, but he proved us all wrong. I don't he's satisfied with the way he's performing. He knows he can get better," Seth said.

So what, according to him, is the one thing that separates his brother from the rest?

"I think his work ethics stands out from the rest. I doubt there is any player out there who pays so much attention to his routine. And I say this as a basketball player first and as a brother later," he said.

Having not made it to the playoffs with the Sacramento Kings, Seth hopes that the next season will be better for him. Asked about his own game, the younger Curry admitted he has big shoes to fill.

"He's (Stephen) one of the biggest stars in the world. I may be known as Steph's younger brother instead of Seth. That's how people see me and I'm fine with that. He doesn't raise the expectations for himself but for me too.

But that has made me a better player, so I'm thankful to him for that. It's given me a lot of confidence. He watches me. I watch him. We talk basketball all the time. He's been a benefit to my career," Seth signed off.
