I-League: Churchill Brothers thrash Sporting Clube de Goa 8-4

Bineesh Balan grabbed a hat-trick in the first 40 minutes itself while Gabonese striker Henry Antchouet and Brazilian midfielder Roberto Menes da Silva each struck a brace.

Churchill Brothers were tied on points at the top of the table after they demolished Sporting Clube de Goa 8-4 in a 11th round I-League clash at the Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Sunday.

Bineesh Balan grabbed a hat-trick in the first 40 minutes itself while Gabonese striker Henry Antchouet and Brazilian midfielder Roberto Menes da Silva each struck a brace. Lebanese striker Akram Moghrabi also joined the scoring party as the team registered their biggest win this season.

The big win meant Churchill Brothers are now tied on points with defending champions Dempo Sports Club. Churchill, however. continue to be placed second due to their inferior head to head record with the defending champions.
