Reigning Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton is determined to turn the tables on Ferrari at Shanghai this weekend and win again, after Mercedes lost to Sebastian Vettel at the Malaysian Grand Prix a fortnight ago.
Hamilton was edged out by four-time world champion Vettel, who is racing for Ferrari this season after moving from Red Bull, in the Malaysian Grand Prix and now the Briton is determined to outrun Mercedes' closest rivals and win again.
In his column for the BBC, Hamilton stated that he is going into this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix determined to turn the tables on Ferrari and win again, after they beat Mercedes in Malaysia at the last race.
The two-time Formula One world champion stated that they went into Malaysia thinking that they would win as that's what one does when one starts from pole, but he added that Mercedes finishing second there has not changed his thinking in any way.
Hamilton claimed that he has never gone into any season in his career thinking that it was going to be easy and he insisted that he certainly never thought that about this year, even after all the success Mercedes had in 2014.
Hamilton claimed that he has been very open-minded about the likelihood of other teams closing the gap, so he added that when Ferrari did, he was not too fazed about it. He said that he can't predict how the season is going to pan out and how closely Ferrari would challenge them, but he added that their car is obviously not bad at all, and they have made massive strides with their engine.
So, Hamilton admitted that he would imagine that Ferrari are going to be on Mercedes' tail from this point on for some time. However, he added that the thing about Formula One is that it is entirely unpredictable and so he might be completely wrong.
