Golf: Tiger Woods confirms he will play at Augusta post "two-month" sabbatical

Former world number one golfer Tiger Woods ended his two-month sabbatical from the sport as he announced that he will play in the Masters at Augusta, which starts on Thursday.

Earlier, the 14-time major champion had withdrawn from the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, his second start of the season, because of tightness in his back, stating that he was taking an indefinite break from the professional game.

Woods said that he would be playing in the Masters as it is very important to him, the BBC reported.

The American golfer insisted that he has worked a lot on his game and is looking forward to compete at Augusta.

Woods has failed to win a major in seven years, since the US Open in 2008.
