It is now time for some real hitting. While the Champions League T20 proper gets under way elsewhere in the country, Yuvraj and Co. get ready to entertain the crowd at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here when India ‘A’ take on a charged-up West Indies ‘A’ in the one-off T20 on Saturday.

Who better than Yuvraj to delight the crowd during the weekend? After his match-winning 123 in the first limited-overs game last Sunday, he has notched up 40 and 61, both ending in losing causes, handing over the series to the Caribbeans. It could mean additional pressure on Yuvraj, who is trying hard to make a comeback into the Indian team.

Yes, batsmen like Mandeep Singh and Baba Aparajith have made themselves accountable but there were not enough partnerships to chase down challenging totals. With T20, it probably becomes all the more difficult.

This is also likely to be a tough test for the youngsters trying to move up to the Indian team. More than the batting, bowling and fielding have been concerns for the hosts and could surely do with some improvement.

Jaydev Unadkat came up with a five-for in the third game but his effort was not enough to see India through.

While India ‘A’ are trying to sort out their problems, West Indies ‘A’ have things going their way at the moment. Centuries from Jonathan Carter and Kirk Edwards formed the basis for their team’s wins.
