Johannesburg: Germany and Czech Republic have reportedly made it to the Fed Cup finals following their victory over Australia and Italy respectively.

Germany's Angelique Kerber reportedly took the country into its first Fed Cup final in 22 years with a fighting victory over Australia's Samantha Stosur in the semi-final in Brisbane on Sunday, while Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova defeated Italy's Roberta Vinci to take the country to their third final in four years.

Kvitova's victory has handed the Czechs an unassailable 3-0 lead over the defending champions Italy, as the world number six and former Wimbledon champion defeated Vinci 6-3, 7-5 in an hour-and-a-half match, Sport24 reported.

Meanwhile, world number seven Kerber reportedly defeated former US Open champion Stosur 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 as she fought back in two hours 14 minutes to give Germany an unassailable 3-0 lead over Australia.

Czech Republic will host Germany in the Fed Cup final on November 8 and 9, the report added.
