When the whole country is eagerly awaiting the release of Mahendra Singh Dhoni's biopic - M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, his former Indian teammate Gautam Gambhir is not too pleased with the idea of making films on the lives of cricketers.

Gambhir, who was recently ignored for India's Test series against New Zealand after an impressive run in the Duleep Trophy, took to Twitter to say, "I don't believe in biopics on cricketers. I think those people who have contributed more to the country than the cricketers deserve a biopic. There are lots of people in the country who have done so many noble deeds for the nation. Therefore, biopics should be made on their lives."

At a time when most former and present cricketers have expressed their happiness about the film on Dhoni, Gambhir's comments have raised a lot of eyebrows. Gambhir's relationship with Dhoni is nothing great to write home about and with this latest tweet, things are not going to get any better.

Here's a look at the trailer of M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story

Incidentally, the biopics that have been made on the lives of cricketers include Azhar, (based on former Indian skipper, Mohammad Azharuddin's life) and Hansie: A True Story (based on the life story of late South African captain Hansie Cronje). Sachin: A Billion Dreams is a biographical film on Sachin Tendulkar which is currently under production. M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story starring actor Sushant Singh Rajput will release on September 30, 2016.
