Former England footballer, Gary Lineker has lashed out at FIFA by calling them 'nauseating' and 'embarrassing'.
The world was rocked by arrests of top FIFA officials in Zurich following corruption and many other charges. This happened just days before the Presidential election was to take place.
The former footballer, 54, and winner of the world’s Golden Boot in 1986, said it was time for major footballing nations to walk away from the “nauseating pollution of the world’s game”.
Lineker expressed his views in a series of Tweets aimed towards current President of FIFA, Sepp Blatter and the organisation itself.
FIFA members should vote for the good of football, and get rid of a man who's reigned over a corrupt organisation for too long. #BlatterOut

If Blatter had even a crumb of dignity remaining, he'd walk away now, creep back to his lair, sit in his armchair and stroke his cat.

There can't be a more corrupt, deplorable organisation on earth than FIFA. The house of cards is falling. Time for change!

He also called out for suspension of the Presidential elections and re-vote for the venue of upcoming 2018 and 2022 World Cup.
Though the elections have been postponed, the authorities have ruled out a re-vote and said the venues will remain same.
