Real Madrid star striker Gareth Bale has reportedly been rewarded for his stellar performances with a new five-year contract that will keep him at the Bernabeu until 2021.

Confirming the news, Spanish newspaper Marca stated that the Welshman's annual earnings will hit 10 million euros net and will place him on an equal footing to captain Sergio Ramos and just behind Cristiano Ronaldo as the highest earners at the club.

Bale played a pivotal role for Real in the last La Liga season and also guided his country Wales to the semi-finals of the European Championship in their first appearance at a major final since 1958.
