Four chess players from Chennai will take part in the World Schools Chess Championship to be held in Russia from June 1 to 9.

Rakshitha Ravi, who won a medal in the Asian Youth Chess Championship in Tashkent recently, D Gukesh, V Pranav and Mendonca Leon Luke of Velammal Vidyalaya here have been selected to take part in the tournament after having qualified for the norms of the All India Chess Federation (AICF), a press note said.

The players have been selected on the basis of FIDE rating, the release added.

Players from 10 countries will be participating in the championship.
