Reigning Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton admitted that Italian rivals Ferrari have great race pace, and will be 'very hard to beat' in the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Englishman finished on pole for the fourth race in succession for Mercedes while Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari, the four-time world champion, took the second position for the race. Hamilton, the Mercedes driver, said that Ferrari are 'very quick' this weekend, adding that they are going to be 'very hard to beat' in Bahrain as they have 'great race pace', Stuff.co.nz reported.

Reflecting on his performance in the qualifying race, Vettel, said that they were able to split the Mercedes drivers in 'true dry conditions' for the first time in qualifying. The German further said that they are progressing as a team, adding that they didn't bring any updates in particular for the race, claiming that the circuit might be a little bit better for them.

Hamilton, who has won two out of three races, leads Vettel by 13 points in the drivers' championship table.
