Indian motor racing has come a long way when it comes to the participation of girls in these sports.

A big issue, however, still is whether these girls enjoy the same status as men in the sport.

In an interview with For Him Magazine, National Rally Champion Sarika Sehrawat said that she was able to carve a niche for herself although the sport was immensely male dominated.

Toyota EMR Racer Abha Mankar said that although motorsport is male dominated, she believes gender does not matter, as if someone is good at racing, they would succeed, regardless of whether the person is a girl or a boy.

India's most avid female super bike racer Alisha Abdullah said that from a very young age, she has been groomed and trained to sustain and give neck-to-neck competition to every guy on the racing track.

The only Formula 4 racer in India, Sneha Sharma opined that when the girls are on track, things are easier as everyone is competing to win, but the moment one takes off the helmet, one feels envious and grief stricken emotions from everywhere, adding that there are racers who make sexist comments, but there is not much she can do about that.

If we go by what these girls have to say, there is still a long way to go in terms of accepting women in the sport!
