Former Pakistan Test skipper Javed Mianded has criticized national cricket selectors for not including veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik in the World Cup squad, saying that the present squad 'lacks experience'.

Miandad said that it was tough to compare the present team with the one they had in 1992, adding that if selectors picked fast bowler Sohail Khan on his recent performance in Pentangular Cup, Malik also deserved to make, a comeback, the Dawn reported.

Miandad further said that though Malik had been out of the national team for quite some time, he had been playing league cricket in Australia and had also scored prolifically in the domestic cricket matches, the report added.

Miandad signed off by bsaying that Malik would have easily filled the void of the suspended Mohammed Hafeez as off-spinner.
