Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli suffers heart attack, admitted to Lilavati Hospital

Former Indian Test player Vinod Kambli has been admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital after he suffered a heart attack.

Kambli has been admitted to the cardiac ICU of the Lilavati hospital in suburban Bandra, and is undergoing treatment, hospital sources said.

Kambli had undergone an angioplasty on two blocked arteries at the hospital in July 2012.

Kambli, who will turn 42 on January 18 next year, has played 17 Tests and 104 ODIs for India. The former left-handed batsman is famous for his world-record 664-run partnership with Sachin Tendulkar in a school match in 1988.

Kambli, who is known for his flamboyant lifestyle, was recently in the news due to his emotional outburst against Sachin.

Kambli was apparently hurt because the battling legend didn't mention him in his retirement speech and also didn't invite him to his farewell dinner after retirement.

The friendship apparently went sour after Kambli spoke against Sachin on a reality TV show.
