Karachi: Former President of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Ehsan Mani has said that his stance against the influence of the Big 3 over the ICC has not changed at all in recent times and he is still against it even with a change in Pakistan's position under Najam Sethi's leadership.

The former Pakistani cricketer said that it really does not matter whether it is Pakistan or any other country that has accepted the Big 3, Australia, England and India's dominance over ICC, as the whole principle is wrong.

According to PakPassion.net, Mani said that his position would have remained the same even if Pakistan had been a part of 'Big 4', adding that the whole governance of ICC has taken a huge step backward with the proposition of 'Big 3'.

Mani said that corporate governance demands transparency in decision-making processes globally and in the way money is earned and revenues accounted for, but added that Big 3's proposal lacks total transparency and is introduced by people who have personal vested interests.

Mani also said that for him the two members of the ICC, Australia and England, are the real culprits in the Big 3 situation, adding that they have imposed standards of governance on the ICC, which they would not apply to their own organizations.

The former ICC president said that the ECB and CA bear the most responsibility as to where cricket would find itself today.

Moreover, Mani added that cricket would never flourish if eight or nine countries play the game at the highest level by going along with the Big 3.
