Football legend Diego Maradona slaps journalist for winking at ex-wife

Former Argentine legend Diego Maradona is in the eye of the storm once again, this time because he rushed towards a scribe and slapped him. It is believed that the reporter was flirting with his partner Veronica Ojeda.

The Boca Juniors star, a regular with controversies got irked when the reporter winked at Ojeda when the couple and their son Diego Fernando left a theatre. They were in their car in his homeland, getting ready to leave.

Maradona got into a heated argument with other journalists. The 53-year-old called the reporter an "idiot" before slapping him.

The 1986 World Cup winning captain questioned why was he messing with his wife when wasn't messing with him. 

The former Argentina coach has courted troubles in the past too. He shot journalists with an air rifle, failed a drug test during a World Cup campaign in the USA and was sent back home. He has also admitted in the past to have abused alcohol and cocaine.
