Former Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has shown his support for his former teammate Michael Schumacher, who is in a coma, by taking part in an annual charting karting event in his native Brazil with 'Schumi' written across his visor, and said that he is praying for the seven-time world champion to pull through.

The German is currently being treated by doctors in the Grenoble University Hospital after hitting his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps.

According to The Independent, Massa wrote in a statement released on the Ferrari website that Schumacher, his 'great friend', helped him very much in his career, adding that he prays for the legend everyday.

Massa further wrote that he wants to see Schumacher stronger than ever like always, and wants to give him a 'big hug'.

The report mentioned that Schumacher took Massa under his wing when the Brazilian joined the Italian manufacturer in 2006, which proved to be the German's final year with the team as he announced his first retirement from the sport, only to return with Mercedes in 2010.
