Anjuman-I-Islam (Fort) off-spinner Faisal Patel picked up four wickets in the session after tea on second day to give his team a chance to defend low score of 111 against Hansraj Morarji (Andheri) in the Elite Division tie of the Harris Shield in Shivaji Park here on Wednesday.

The Andheri school were tottering at 78 for seven at the end of day's play. Though they need only 33 runs to win and have three wickets in hand, they will not be the favourites on the third and final day given how they fell to guiles of Faisal.

Earlier, the day belonged to another off-spinner Satyak Patel, who picked up 10 wickets in the match, to restrict the Fort school to 110 in their second innings and earn a low target of 111 for his team. However, it could prove to be a tougher ask than expected.

On a day that saw a total of 21 wickets fall, the momentum lies with Anjuman going into the final day of play.

A confident Faisal said, "Instead of complaining about my side's batting, I'm happy they've given me 30 runs to defend. It's all I need. I'd have finished the match if we had got more time today. But I have tomorrow for that," said the 15-year-old, who's taken a total of eight wickets in the match so far.

As Faisal kept chipping away at the Hansraj Morarji's batting line-up, Satyak's optimism turned into despair. "I hope we can chase the total. I might have taken 10 wickets in the match, but it'll count for nothing if we don't chase this total considering that we've got a second chance having bundled them out so cheaply."

With the track helping the spinners, Anjuman coach Siraj Qureshi was optimistic about his side's chances.

"The batting let us down completely but 30 runs is a lot to defend going by how Faisal and the other spinners have bowled. It's a turning track and we've played to our strengths which has been spin. We opened with them today and will do the same tomorrow," said Qureshi, adding that the match is 75 per cent in favour of his side.

In another tie, Swami Vivekananda (Borivli) bowled out Gundecha Education (Kandivli) for 91 runs to win by an innings and 403 runs.

Vivekananda declared after Suved Parkar went on to score 300 and was also involved in a 300-run-partnership with Aman Shah (112*). They then bowled out Gundecha for 91 runs.

Brief Scores: Anjuman-I-Islam 112 (S Patel 5/43, A Sen 3/12) & 110 (S Patel 5/32, A Sharma 4/34) vs Hansraj Morarji 112 (F Patel 4/30, A Singh 3/12) & 78/7, Gundecha Education (Kandivli) 26 (S Parkar 5/9, A Poojary 3/12, P Pillai ¼) & 91 (A Poojary 6/25) lost to Swami Vivekanada (Borivli) 520/2 declared (S Parkar 300*, A Shah 112*) by an innings and 403 runs
