Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has dropped winger Memphis Depay from the squad for the FA Cup final clash against Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Depay, who joined United from PSV Eindhoven last May, has had a disappointing year and his omission from FA Cup final squad brought his debut season to premature end.  Depay, however, was brought as a late substitute in the side's recent win over Bournemouth and also played against Norwich City before that, the Guardian reported.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who scored 22 goals for PSV in 2014-2015, has not scored for United since late February against Midtjylland and his most recent goal in a domestic match came in November against Watford.
Meanwhile, defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, who played for full 90 minutes against Bournemouth, has also been omitted for the clash against Crystal Palace. United will head into the FA Cup final with an aim to clinch their first silverware since 2012-13, when former manager Sir Alex ferguson clinched Premier League title in his last season in charge.
