This was always on the cards but the fact that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is actually considering retiring from international football after the end of Euro 2016 will come as blow to his fans. Swedish website Expressen and Dagens Nyheter, confirmed that Ibrahimovic is set to appear for the very last time before the home crowd while taking part in Euro 2016 preparatory fixtures against Slovenia and Wales. However, Ibrahimovic stated that his age will not impede plans to continue playing professionally. He added, "Age is just a number, it's all mental; if I want to do something, I will do it."

In a report from ESPN FC there were speculations about Ibra's move to Premier League, referring to that he said, "A lot of factors have to fit. Not just football-wise, but off the pitch as well. It's the first time I am in this situation where I am not dependent on a third party. It's like a marriage, it's two parties. Both parties have to want it just as much, then it's a perfect match." "We'll have to see how much the other party wants it. But the future looks good. It could be that I retire, nobody has thought of that. Nobody has thought of the fact that I said a few years ago that Zlatan will go out on top, the way nobody else has. Anything can happen. The best thing is to leave top-level football while you're still on top," he added.

Zlatan is currently a free agent after choosing not to renew his contract with Paris-Saint Germain at the end of the 2015/16 season. Spending four seasons with the Ligue 1 side, the Swedish talisman has won 4 consecutive titles and also become their all time top scorer. He also remains Sweden's all time top scorer. Meanwhile Manchester United are hot favourites to sign Ibrahimovic and with Jose Mourinho at helm, the task seems to have got a major boost as both Ibra and Mourinho share a good rapport with each other.
