Euro 2016 Group C Ranking: How Germany, Poland, Northern Ireland and Ukraine can qualify

We did the maths so you don't have to. Spoiler: Ukraine can't.

The last group matches will see Germany take on Northern Ireland and Ukraine take on Poland. We did the maths to figure out who'd qualify  so you don’t have to:

Germany

Germany finish top if they win with against Northern Ireland unless Poland wins with a margin greater than Germany's. 

If Germany draw and Poland win, Poland top the group while Germany come second.

If Germany lose and Poland lose, then Northern Ireland top the group, while Germans come third or second depending on the scoreline. 

If Germany lose and Poland win Germany come third.

Poland

If Poland win and Germany win, Poland will come second unless they beat Germany's goal difference (which if they are same will be based on goals scored).

If Poland win and Germany lose or draw, Poland will top the group.

If Poland draw and Germany win, Poland will be second.

If Poland draw and Germany draw, the positions will depend on goals scored (since goal difference is the same). 

If Poland draw and Germany lose, Poland tops the group while Northern Ireland come second.

If Poland lose and Germany lose, then Northern Ireland tops the group and Germany and Poland will be second or third based on the score . 

If Poland lose and Germany win, then Poland will come second. 

If Poland lose and Germany draw, Poland will come third. 

Northern Ireland 

If Northern Ireland win, and Poland win Northern Ireland will be second.

If Northern Ireland win and Poland draw, Northern Ireland will be first.

If Northern Ireland win and Poland lose, Northern Ireland will top the group and either Poland or Germany will be second or third depending on the Ukraine and Poland result.

If Northern Ireland draw and Poland win, they will be third.

If Northern Ireland draw and Poland lose, then Germany will top the group and Northern Ireland will be second.

If Northern Ireland lose and Poland win, Northern Ireland finishes third.

If Northern Ireland lose and Poland draw, then Northern Ireland finish third.

If Northern Ireland lose and Poland lose, then NI's position will depend on the scores.

Ukraine

Ukraine can't qualify because of head-to-head results as they've already lost to Northern Ireland.
