Everton striker Samuel Eto'o scored twice to help his side climb into the top half of the Premier League and leave joint-bottom Burnley still without a league win.
Eto'o's put the ball past the goalkeeper with a powerful header just four minutes into the game, but Danny Ings cancelled out Everton's lead when he capitalised on a Romelu Lukaku mistake to convert Lukas Jutkiewicz's pass.
However, striker Lukaku soon made amends when his scuffed shot found the left corner in the 29th minute to put Everton in the lead again, The BBC reported.
Eto'o then made the points certain with a superbly curled shot just five minutes before fulltime, before he was denied a hattrick by the post.
It was the ideal end to an encouraging week for Everton manager Roberto Martinez as his team finally begins to build some momentum following last weekend's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa and a battling 0-0 Europa League draw in Lille.
Meanwhile, Burnley's problems continue to mount and they would go bottom on Monday if Queens Park Rangers avoid defeat by Aston Villa.
Everton manager Martinez said that they knew they had to be professional and really concentrate, adding that Burnley played with a lot of energy and pressure but his side dealt with it and he thought that they took their goals with real class.
Martinez said that they worked really hard for 12 months to earn the right to be in the Europa League, adding that the squad is big enough to deal with playing lots of games and he is really pleased with that.
Martinez also said that what Eto'o brings is incredible experience but with that is also a great hunger. He said that the striker is a terrific example to have him around and is a clinical finisher.
