The battle for the top five spot in EPL table continues as Tottenham Hotspurs host former Champions Manchester City. Spurs currently sit on 6th place with 58 points, level with Liverpool, who are on 5th place with 58 points. A better goal difference separates the two sides. Liverpool's loss to Hull City on Wednesday means that Spurs can capitalise and get back to their 5th spot.

The top three teams in the table get an automatic qualification for Champions League, while the 4th placed team have to play a Champions League qualification. The 5th placed team get a spot in Europa League. With only four match days to go, the race for 4th and 5th position is tensed up. Liverpool and Tottenham are level at 58 points, but Liverpool edge out due to goal difference. Manchester United sit seven points above them at 4th position with 65 points. So mathematically, all these three teams, along with Southampton (7th placed with 57 points) have a chance to finish in top five.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are on 2nd place with 68 points, just 9 points above Tottenham. Manuel Pellegrin's men look a revived side after a horrendous past month. City have managed to win both of their previous league games, while Spurs have drawn one and won the other of their previous two.

A win or draw for the Spurs will see them temporarily grabbing the 5th place, hoping Liverpool drop points against their encounter with relegation threatened QPR. While a draw or win for City, will see them consolidate their place in top three. Both teams will look to get maximum points from this encounter.

The reverse fixture of this encounter, saw a 4-1 hammering of Spurs at the Etihad Stadium. Sergio Aguero had an astonishing game as he hit all the four goals, but also missed a penalty. Cristian Eriksen was the lone goal scorer for the north London club. Watch the video highlights below.
