Manchester City produced a dominant performance on Sunday night as they outclassed West Ham 2-0 to consolidate their grip on a top-four place in the Premier League.

James Collins netted a bizarre own goal to put opponents City ahead in the 18th minute before Sergio Aguero doubled the lead as he scored his 20th league goal of the season 18 minutes later.

Prior to the game, City manager Manuel Pellegrini conceded that he could be sacked if his team do not secure a top-four place at the end of the season, the BBC reported.

With the win, City are fourth on 64 points, one point behind third-placed Manchester United and seven points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool in the league table.
