After going down one-nil in the four-match Test series against Pakistan, England have reportedly sought the help of former off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq to counter leg-spinner Yasir Shah's bowling attack in the upcoming matches.

Yasir was adjudged Man of the Match for taking a total of 10 wickets across two innings as England struggled to build partnerships and were eventually bundled out for 207 on the fourth day while chasing a target of 283 runs in the opening Test at Lord's.

According to a leading British daily, Saqlain's short stint with the hosts will also include guiding off-spinner Moeen Ali and leg-break spinner Adil Rashid tactically.

Moeen has been facing huge threat of losing his spot to Rashid after he told the media that he struggle to bowl against Pakistan captain Misbah-ul Haq sometimes, the Express Tribune reported.

Saqlain, the inventor of 'doosra', is expected to help England till the end of the second Test, something which could also earn him contract for winter tours against Bangladesh and India.

The 75-run victory in the first Test also saw Pakistan register their first victory at Lord's in 20 years. The two sides will now lock horns in the second match at Old Trafford, starting from Friday.
