Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly not urging Rashid Latif to change his decision of declining the chief selector's job because the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is pressurizing to keep banned Test leg-spinner Danish Kaneria out of cricket.

Well-informed sources have reportedly revealed that the ECB had not been happy with the news of PCB's job offer to Latif because it felt that the former Pakistani captain had been directly supporting Kaneria over the issue of a life ban being imposed on the bowler.

According to the Dawn, the ECB had banned Kaneria for spot-fixing in an English county game held in 2009.

Latif has reportedly backed Kaneria's efforts to get the ban removed since then as he considers that the bowler has been trapped in the scam.

Sources said that PCB has given the cold shoulder to Latif after receiving a negative response from the ECB, as they consider that the stance would be enough to force him to quit, the report added.
