Insisting that Kieron Pollard is hurting the West Indies team with his lackadaisical approach, former Pakistan head coach Waqar Younis has called on the Caribbean side to drop the all-rounder for the third and the final ODI, which is to be held in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

"His approach and the way he played in this game and in any of the T20 games, you're destroying the morale of the team," Waqar was quoted as saying.

Waqar's comments came after big-hitting Pollard scored just 22 runs off 29 balls when the visitors required more than ten runs per over to win the second ODI, which Pakistan went on to win by 59 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

"The way he batted - he went in with 11 an over or about 12 an over required and he is known for this sort of situation. And he just went in and he hit one boundary and batted the entire time without going anywhere," he said of Pollard, who is also wicket-less across the five limited-overs matches the two nations have contested in the UAE.

While emphasising that Pollard needs a break from the game, Waqar said that West Indies should bring in another player if they want to avoid a series whitewash against the Azhar Ali-led side.

Besides ODIs, the two sides will also play a three-match Test series, starting from October 13 in Dubai.
