1) Shashank Manohar elected unopposed as BCCI President: 58-year-old Shashank Manohar on Sunday was formally elected as the BCCI president for the second time at the Board's Special General meeting after emerging as the only candidate, marking an unusually smooth transition of power following the demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya.

2) Sepp Blatter's daughter says he will quit FIFA in February 2016: Sepp Blatter, facing a criminal investigation as part of soccer's corruption scandal, will "definitely not" stay on as president of the FIFA governing body after the election of a new leader in February, his daughter said. His former public relations adviser Klaus Stoehlker said last week that Blatter had not ruled out trying to stay on as head of world soccer beyond the Feburary 26 vote.​

4) Bangladesh cricketer Shahadat Hossain wife held over torture of minor maid: Bangladesh's international cricketer Shahadat Hossain's wife, absconding for about a month, was arrested here today over allegations of beating and torturing their 11-year-old maid. Hossain, 29, and his wife Nritto Shahadat were last month accused of torturing their maid and a case was ladged against them under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

5) EPL 2015- Arsene Wenger says he has 'no plans to retire': Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who recently celebrated his 19 years at the club, has revealed that he has not planned his retirement yet. According to the Mirror, there are large numbers of Arsenal supporters, who think it is time for Wenger to step down as his club's frustrating form continues. Wenger further said that when he would decide to step down, he would retire for a good, adding that his retirement could be more instinctive and impulsive.
