Twitter went bonkers when on Wednesday it was announced that Mahendra Singh Dhoni would relinquish Indian captaincy. Over 360,000 tweets came in from fans across the globe. However, three of his contemporaries, who are very much active on the micro-blogging site, surprisingly didn't even leave a congratulatory message for 'Captain Cool'.

Incidentally, more often than not these three senior Indian cricketers have been reported to have had ego problems with Dhoni. The men in question are Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh.

All of them were part of the Indian cricket team which Dhoni captained and took to great heights but in Sehwag and Gambhir's case, selection issues were supposed to have created rifts between them and their leader while Yuvraj's father Yograj always tried to spoil his son's chances by talking ill of Dhoni.

At a time when most of the former and present Indian cricketers are pouring in their heartfelt gratitude for the most successful Indian captain, these three are busy tweeting and retweeting aspects which has no relation with Dhoni.

It may also be highlighted that Sehwag even wishes foreigners like Joe Root and Ross Taylor while Gambhir tweets why biopics should only be made on the lives of soldiers but alas, they have no time for Dhoni.

Whether they have purposely decided to keep mum is another discussion altogether but someone as great as Dhoni surely deserves a little more respect from the men who were his friends at one point of time.
