The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday sent a mail to Bengal cricket association asking to appoint the East Zone curator Ashish Bhowmick, to take charge of Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

This move was taken to sideline Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) curator Prabir Mukherjee, who looks after Kolkata's historic Eden Gardens.

The curator has been sidelined due to differences related to the pitch, as Dhoni insisted on turners from Day one of the Test match. Veteran pitch curator Prabir Mukherjee had earlier demanded a written instruction for preparing turner from the BCCI.

Dhoni had been asking for turners for Test matches against England, but he was advised not to ask for another spin-friendly track at Kolkata by former India skipper Sourav Ganguly since it would pose a threat to India's batting line-up.

In the second Test, Wankhede curator Sudhir Naik, offered a turner at Mumbai which helped spinners from Day 1, but the move backfired as India suffered a humiliating 10-wicket loss to England who levelled the series with the emphatic win.

The Kolkata Test begins on December 5.
