Dhawal Kulkarni ruled out of semis due to injury

The Mumbai team suffered a huge blow ahead of their Ranji Trophy semifinal, with fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarni being ruled out of the all-important tie with a hamstring injury.
Aditya Tare & Co will take on Madhya Pradesh in the semifinal from February 13 to 17 in Cuttack.

According to Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) joint secretary Unmesh Khanvilkar, Kulkarni picked up the injury during Mumbai's quarterfinal match. "Dhawal is injured. He picked up a hamstring injury during the quarterfinal against Jharkhand at Mysuru," Khanvilkar said.

The state selectors made another change to the team, removing Jay Bista and getting Bhavin Thakkar in place of him. The 34-year-old right-handed batsman has played 41 first class matches, scoring 2,132 runs at an average of 34.96.
