The Decision Review System in cricket is always a talking point, especially with the Indian board opposing its usage in any of its bilateral series. Though umpiring decisions have, from time to time, gone against India, it is often spoken about 'what if DRS was in use?'

India was at the receiving end in the second innings of the third Test in the West Indies when Rohit Sharma was adjudged leg before wicket to a Miguel Cummins delivery after the batsmen edged it on to his pads. If only India agreed to use DRS.

In the first Test against New Zealand in Kanpur last week, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson's edge off Ravindra Jadeja to wicketkeeper was not picked up by umpire Richard Kettleborough. Agan, if only DRS was in use.
India's stance on DRS has changed over the years to a vehement "No" to "Maybe", what with Rahul Dravid and even captain Virat Kohli game to look into it in a positive manner.

Kohli was asked on Friday about India's stance on DRS and if he would go for its use in the future. He said: "Those are the things I can't say yes or no to sitting here. But these are the things we have discussed. These are things we have had meetings on. Because, there were some areas that we felt can be debated. Especially, the ball-tracking and HawkEye. But all in all, I personally feel these things can be discussed and debated on.

"We wouldn't take decisions too hard because we in the first place decided we would not use DRS. For us to then say that the umpires made an error and it is going against us, it is not logical. There is no room for excuses. Once DRS is in place, once DRS is up and running for us as well, then you can sit and think what are the grey areas.

"As I said, these things have been spoken about. We want to definitely think about it. But I can't make a decision sitting here right now. It's something we have had discussions on. We will certainly look to probably introduce it in future."

New Zealand opener Tom Latham felt that the use of DRS in the ongoing Test matches would have been ideal.

"I suppose we've had it in the past back home and it is a good system that tends to work. It gets rid of that decision that probably isn't out or is out, that major decision that is called incorrectly. We enjoy it back home. If India started using it, that'd be great."
