DJ and music producer David Guetta will write and produce the anthem for the UEFA EURO 2016.

The 47-year-old star will perform during the opening ceremony of the football tournament at Stade de France in Paris on June 10th 2016, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

"Secret's out then. I am the musical ambassador for UEFA Euro 2016. @uefaeuro bring it on!", Guetta posted on twitter.

"It is incredibly exciting ... to be part of this huge football tournament in my home country. Music and football go hand in hand when it comes to celebration and enjoyment and I want to help to make this EURO the biggest and most memorable yet," he later added in a statement.

Besides creating the official song, the "Titanium" hitmaker - who released his sixth album, "Listen", last year, will develop the musical identity for the competition, including in-stadia audio and global broadcast sequences.

Guetta, who will also play a free concert at the Champ Mars in Paris on the eve of the tournament on June 9th 2016, added, "We want the fans to be at the very heart of everything that we do."

The acclaimed French DJ has collaborated with stars including Rihanna, Kelly Rowland and Sia during his career, although it is not yet known whether a vocalist will feature on the tournament's anthem.
