Indian batting legend Rahul Dravid was on Tuesday unveiled as the mentor of Indian Premier league (IPL) side Delhi Daredevils (DD) for the 2016 season. The former Indian captain has been associated with the coaching role for a long time now with his recent engagement being with the Indian U-19 team. Dravid was earlier the mentor of now suspended franchise Rajasthan Royals while he has also guided India A teams. Dravid will take over from former India coach Gary Kirtsen, who resigned from the post in the last year.
The right-hander will be joined by South African Paddy Upton as the head coach of the team. Speaking on his new assignment, Dravid said, "DD has a good mix of young and established players. It's great to be a part of this team and i am looking forward to work with TA Sekhar and Paddy Upton."

Incidentally, Dravid played a stellar role in guiding the Indian U-19 team to the final of the ICC U-19 World Cup, winning 13 matches on the trot. India lost the summit clash to West Indies but Dravid's boys were praised lavishly for their matured style of play.
