England produced a strong fight back on Wednesday as they bundled out the West Indies for 299 and subsequently scored 74-0 at stumps on day two of the second Test in Grenada.

Resuming at the overnight position of 188-5, West Indies failed to capitalize on Marlon Samuels' ton (103) as the rest of the batsmen kept on losing wickets at regular juncture.

Subsequently, fast bowler Stuart Broad bowled an impressive spell as he ripped apart the West Indies lower order after lunch.

Broad claimed the wickets of Denesh Ramdin (31), Jason Holder (22) and Kemar Roach (1) to leave West Indies struggling at 247-9. However, tail-enders Devendra Bishoo (30) and Shannon Gabriel (20 not out) added 52 runs for the last wicket before the former was trapped lbw by Moeen Ali.

England, who are aiming for a first away Test win since 2012, replied on a promising note as under-fire openers Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott remained unbeaten on their respective 37 and 32 to safely negotiate the evening session. (ANI)
