Sydney: Australia's Test bowling coach Craig McDermott has reportedly been reappointed as the team's assistant coach for another two years with a broader range of responsibilities.

The former champion Australian paceman, who returned for his second stint as bowling coach ahead of the recent Ashes series, played a significant role in Australia's 5-0 whitewash of England and 2-1 victory over South Africa.

According to News.com.au, team performance manager Pat Howard said that the experience of McDermott, whose original short-term contract has been extended to 2016, and his strong rapport with the bowling group played a key role in the recent success and as such, they are keen to see that continue.

Howard also said that McDermott will also do a bit more work with the limited-overs players along with one-day and Twenty20 bowling coach Ali de Winter ahead of the 2015 World Cup and he will also be closely connected to the work being done at the national cricket centre in Brisbane developing players for the future.
