Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) superstar Conor McGregor broke his silence about the mega clash with Floyd Mayweather on Friday, speaking about making arrangements in the month of September.

"[September] is what I'm thinking. Thats what the word is. Thats what were close to doing," McGregor was quoted as saying by Independent.co.uk.

I've tried to talk to Floyd. I flew to Las Vegas to have talks with Floyd and then he retired. He just does''nt want to see me. Hes petrified. Wouldn't you be? No one knows what to expect with me, and they shouldn't.""Because I dont know what to expect either," he added.

As the Irish boxing star is currently on a paternity leave from UFC, it clashes with Mayweather's schedule who wanted the clash to take place in June.  'Speaking in Liverpool on the latest leg of his UK tour, Mayweather said "For Conor McGregor. I'm coming out of retirement just to fight Conor McGregor. Simple and plain, lets fight in June."

The American boxing star has not fought a match since his 49th victory over Andre Berto in 2015, but despite McGregor's preferred schedule for September, the current UFC lightweight champion says he's ready. “I’m ready to box. I’ve been ready for a long time,” McGregor said. “The game’s going to be in shock when I step in the ring. Trust me on that.”
