Two security guards deployed at this year's 20th Commonwealth Games (CWG) have been sacked for taking a selfie with Jamaican Olympic sprinting star Usain Bolt.

According to the Daily Star, all volunteers at the Glasgow Games were warned by their supervisors not to approach athletes for pictures during the event.

The Evening Standard quoted one of the volunteers, as saying that everyone was taking photographs of him, but only two guys had been singled out for sacking orders.

It is understood Bolt, who will take to the track on Friday night, played no part in the guards' dismissal.

The 27-year-old Jamaican, one of the most famous athletes on the planet, has been under the spotlight after reports emerged that he had described the Games as "a bit s***".

The Olympic champion angrily denied the accusations and later described the event as "awesome".

Bolt is due to run in the heats of 4x100m relay on Thursday night despite not having raced this season due to a foot injury.
