Johannesburg: The Chennai Super Kings have claimed their first victory at Wankhede Stadium after defeating hosts Mumbai Indians by four wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash on Saturday.

Chennai, which won the toss and elected to bat first, reached 160 for six in reply to Mumbai's 157 for six boosted by West Indian opener Dwayne Smith's half century (57), who shared in a third wicket partnership of 63 with South African Faf du Plessis (31).

According to Sport24, after Smith was dismissed by Praveen Kumar (2-31) in the 16th over, the chase began to wobble a bit but Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (22 not out) guided his team home.

Smith and Brendon McCullum (13) gave the visitors a decent start with an opening stand of 29 from 27 balls before Kumar trapped the New Zealander in front, and the report mentioned that Smith was then joined by Suresh Raina (19) and the pair added 27 off 22 deliveries for the second wicket.
