IPL might be sport, fun and entertainment for most people, but for some, it’s a chance to make a quick buck.
Meet Siddharth Gupta, who has travelled all the way from Raipur via Hyderabad to Bengaluru by bus, a 30-hour journey. The reason? To sell Virat Kohli glasses on the day of the final.
These specially-designed spectacles are made only in Raipur, and Gupta came to Bengaluru in the hope of selling around 100 of them at a price of Rs 150 each.
He managed to sell only about 10 a couple of hours ahead of the final. “It’s a bit expensive, maybe that’s why it’s not selling that much,” he said.
He is staying in a small hotel near the city bus stand, and will make the journey back to Raipur on Monday morning. Isn’t that spending too much money and time for a few hours of business? “I took a risk. IPL is all about that, anyway,” he said.
